The history of global NMN research

At present, the United States, Japan and other countries have a variety of NMN supplement products as dietary supplements or health food into the market, and sold to many countries and regions, no adverse reactions after eating.

In order to study the effect and safety of NMN on human physiology, a number of clinical trials on NMN are in progress.

In 2005, Professor shinichiro Imai of Washington University in St. Louis launched the NMN continuous research work;

In 2009, Professor Miao Chaoyu of Shanghai Second Military Medical University won the NMN patent for stroke treatment;

In 2011, Professor shinichiro Imai of Washington University in St. Louis and Japan OYC jointly developed NMN and successfully made a sample;

In December 2013, Professor David Sinclair of Harvard Medical School published a paper on NMN reversing aging in cell, and established metrobiotech company to plan to develop new NMN anti-aging drugs.

In 2016, Keio University and the University of Washington jointly conducted a human clinical trial of NMN to discuss the potential of NMN as a functional food by evaluating metabolic parameters. Healthy men aged 40-60 were selected as subjects and divided into two stages. The first stage was to evaluate the safety of single dose of NMN [8]. The second stage was to evaluate the safety of long-term (8 weeks) use of NMN. No adverse reactions or safety problems were reported.

In 2017, Fumiko higashikawa of Hiroshima University of Japan carried out clinical trials to study the safety of long-term oral NMN and its impact on human health. A parallel, randomized, double-blind trial was designed. Healthy subjects were treated with NMN at doses of 100mg / D and 200mg / D for 24 weeks. The parameters in serum and plasma were measured, and the number and safety of adverse reactions were recorded

No reports of adverse reactions or safety problems have been published.

In addition, the school of pharmacy of the University of Washington is conducting a clinical trial on the effect of dietary supplement NMN on female metabolism. The subjects took oral NMN capsules at a dose of 250 mg / D daily for 8 weeks, and no adverse reaction report has been released yet.

On March 31, 2020, the Ministry of health, labor and welfare of Japan listed NMN in the "non-medical list", that is, it is allowed to be used in food production.
